The basic recipe for tapping for children is very simple:
Take one emotion or feeling.
Link it to a certain person or instance.
Give it a name (like “cleaning up room”)
Score it: 0 is no intensity, 10 is maximum intensity.
Smaller kids can show it with their hands how intense they are.
Start tapping: Each point 7 times, while repeating the “reminder phrase”.
When a child doesn’t want to tap on himself, use a tapping bear to tap on, or tap on yourself.
The points are the following:
After one or two rounds check in about the intensity.
If you’re getting lower, you’re on your way.
If nothing happens, your child or you are probably “reversed”.
Read about being reversed and how to tackle that in the page “tackling reversal”
Happy tapping!
